Research Curriculum
Students are exposed to research in the programme from the first year in semester one through two courses, Research Methods and Evidence Based Practice (SLP5104R) and Applied Research Methods and Statistical Analyses (SLP5120).
In their second year, students have the opportunity to conduct and write up an independent research project on an issue relevant to clinical assessment or intervention (SLP5112R and SLP5116R).
These research-focused courses involve applied research on a client group, in-depth case studies, or other research relevant to local practice, for example, screening tools and norm development.
The scope for research in the local context is wide and varied, allowing our students to choose research in areas that both interest them, as well as have a very significant impact on the current clinical needs in Singapore.
We partner community organisations and healthcare institutions for research. Some of our regular partners are KK Women's and Children's Hospital, Rainbow Centre, and National University Hospital. We welcome enquiries for research collaborations.
